Pruning Grape Vines Wild vs Dometic

So you’ve decided that you love grapes and want to grow grape vines on your own. Well all you’ve got to do is plant the little guy, watch him grow and you’ll have a perfect bunch of grapes, right? Come on, you know that’s wrong. One of the essentials of getting high quality grapes is pruning grape vines. On the other hand some like life and their vines wild.  Please don’t expect thought to get a good crop.

Right about now you might be thinking, ‘but pruning grape vines is such a chore…I didn’t do it last time and I got a huge crop of grapes’. That may be true, but are you more interested in quantity or quality? It’s very easy for novice growers to overlook pruning vines, experience a bumper crop in that particular year, and assume that all the talk of pruning is nonsense. Coming to such a decision would be a mistake.  For more info please visit http://pruninggrapevines.net for an excellent easy to understand overview.

Wild is only a choice for those interested in creating their own personal back up or emergency food supply for the future.

One way to do it if you’re into wild – is get the vines going the proper way for the first number of years.  After they are established then and only then should you consider letting them do wild.   With the right start you can always go back later and with a bit of effort increase the production.
